Clean Truck Plan Discussion For NY/ NJ Ports

(March 4, 2010)

Discussions of have begun for a Clean Truck Plan per the New York and New Jersey Port Authority similar to that of the Port of Los Angeles. However, it is strictly in the talking stage, no mention of any cost at this time.

The mayor of New York and Newark support the program based on the Port of Los Angeles model which mandates licensed motor carriers with employee drivers. The East Coast's largest container port does not appear to be headed in that direction.
