Finnish Strike

An indefinite strike on the morning of March 4 is probable after mediation talks broke down just as drivers return to work, but warehouse personnel prepare to walk out


An estimated 3,000 dockworkers walked off the job, bringing most of the country's foreign trade to a halt and prompting warnings of nationwide plant closures.


Government-appointed mediator called off talks with employers and unions saying the sides were too far apart. No date has been set for fresh negotiations.
